On March 11, 2025, HLADI took part in the National Multisectoral Breakfast Meeting held in Abuja, organized to support the ongoing review of the National Policy on Food and Nutrition (NPFN) and the National Multisectoral Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition. The meeting brought together stakeholders from government, development partners, NGOs, and the private sector.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the current national nutrition policy, address emerging challenges, and align the framework with global best practices and national initiatives. The program featured presentations on the review process, discussions on resource mobilization, and collective planning for next steps.
Meeting Objectives:
- Bring together key partners to evaluate and contribute to the policy review.
- Identify areas of improvement within the existing National Policy on Food and Nutrition.
- Discuss proposed activities, estimated timelines, and budgeting for the review process.
Why the Review is Important
The updated policy aims to:
- Address growing challenges in food security, malnutrition, and public health.
- Strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to promote healthy diets and sustainable food systems.
